RE NIGERIAN ARMY DECLARES AHMAD SALKIDA, (AMBASSADOR) AHMED U BOLORI AND AISHA WAKIL WANTED

My attention has been drawn to a public notice put out by the Nigerian Army and signed by Col. Sani Kukasheka Usman, Acting Director, Army Public Relations. The statement declaring me wanted seeks culpable grounds to punish me on account of “last two videos released by Boko Haram terrorists and other findings…” by the Army.

Clearly, my status as a Nigerian journalist who has reported extensively, painstakingly and consistently on the Boko Haram menace in the country since 2006 is an open book known to Nigerians and the international community. Equally, my total allegiance and sacrifice to the Federal Republic of Nigeria is self evident. I have stayed within the creed of professional journalism in my work.

As a testimony to the credible and professional values of my access, since May 2015, l have been to Nigeria three times on the invitation of Federal Government agencies. I made personal sacrifices for the release of our Chibok daughters.

Finally, the Army is aware that I am not in Nigeria presently. In the coming days I will seek to get a flight to Abuja and avail myself to the Army authorities. Indeed, my return will be hastened if the Military sends me a ticket.

Thank you.

Ahmad Salkida.

  1. Even people who don’t see anything wrong done by this administration are dismayed by the army’s gross incompetence this time around.

Someone was declared wanted without having knowledge of whay he did while he was about going his normal business. Like you and me, he read it in the social media that he’s been declared WANTED.

HE went to report to the nearest barracks for his arrest and was told to come the following day ‘for the continuation of his arrest’. Yes, the arrest ended inconclusive… something we have not seen even in bad scripted movies..

Now, I wouldn’t be suprised if all the people declared wanted by the Nigerian army decide to take themselves to the army and be told to come a week after following the army’s inability of having a place to keep them all.

Abeg why is the Nigerian army falling into our hands?

No one is saying people who are seen as suspects shouldn’t be called for questioning. It should be done within the ambit of the law. Annoying of all is seeing people ( who have gone to school) hailing this move.

The same NIgerian army that has been known for being brute and callous to the people of Borno and Yobe years back to the extend that the people begged the then predisent for their eviction in the states are now hailed. Hailed for its insensitivit.

Yesterday it was a blogger, today peace mediators and tomorrow could be you.

Continue giving the zombies room till nobody dare talks a word in this country. Continue giving the leaders the opportunity till this Nation becomes a place where no one dare talks of injustice like North Korea.

    Banana Republic!

  8. My brother, Your freedom is worth keeping. I have see beautiful tombs occupied by men and women who handed themselves over to nigerian authorities alive, when there was no case to answer. Nigeria does not need ‘heroes’, but rather information.
Even El Rufai and Nuhu Ribadu ran for their lives when faced with a similar predicament. Now see their lives and particularly El Rufai’s insensitivity being revealed.

Remember, Nigeria is NOT really a country but a personality. You must first discover who and the people wearing it before you act. And for now, it’s the dictatorship personality. So I say to you “be wise”.
